Former Senator, Shehu Sani react to the suspension of CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele, recall how He shun the Senate.

On Friday June 9th, President Tinubu had suspended Godwin Emefiele as the (CBN) Governor with immediate effect.

In the statement which was issued by a Director in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey, he said that Emefiele had been directed to hand over to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate).

In the report which was made by Daily Trust, he said This is sequel to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy.

Mr Emefiele has been directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who will act as the Central Bank Governor pending the conclusion of investigation and the reforms.

In his reaction to the suspension, Shehu Sani recalled that the Senate had summoned Emefiele over the new naira notes policy and cash withdrawal limit but he didn’t honour the invitation.

In the post he made via his verified Twitter handle, he said The Senate and CBN; they summoned him on naira redesign and cash withdrawal limit, he shunned them, and they invited him on the N500 DBN disbursement, he shunned them.

The Buhari’s FG played with the Senate and the CBN like a toy. Lawan’s Senate failed to hold the Governor accountable. He tied their hands.
